It’s yall! We are so excited! The theme for this year focuses on the power of storytelling. will be collaborating with the to have a panel m discussion about promoting breastfeeding! Come out and participate by asking questions and sharing your own breastfeeding stories.

If you have any family or friends who are currently preggo, share this post with them and encourage them to attend! The event will be held in Columbia SC at the in Sandhills. It is free and light snacks will be provided! Hope to see you there!

IT’S OUR FAVORITE MONTH, YALL!!! 🙌🏾 It’s National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, and we are starting off with World Breastfeeding Week 2024.

The theme for World Breastfeeding Week is focused on “improve breastfeeding support to reduce inequalities that exist in our society with a special focus on breastfeeding in times of emergencies and crises.“

Here at Mocha Mamas, closing the gap in breastfeeding, particularly among Black families, is why we exist. We will continue to do this work with passion and tenacity as long as it takes!

Here at Mocha Mamas, we don’t entertain “mom shaming,” but rather try to shine the light on the systemic racism, policies at all levels (hospital, federal state, local, employer etc) and societal norms and biases as the root of low breastfeeding rates, especially among our Mocha Mamas. Stats like this really drive home the importance of breastfeeding beyond personal choice.

benefits babies, but did you know it also has benefits for moms? We wrote this piece to highlight these shared benefits & encourage policy change so can be a realistic option for more US moms.

Some states, especially in the Southeastern US, have large disparities in breastfeeding among racial groups, making clear the need to lower barriers for breastfeeding in the workplace and elsewhere.
