The Department is pleased to announce the invitation to apply for our Alumni Artist in Residence Program for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 academic year. This will be the fourth year of this exciting program. This is a semester-long residency offering access to our beautiful Windgate Center facilities and equipment and a stipend of up to $6500.
Our current alumni artist in residence, Joshua Reynolds - who received his BFA with an emphasis in sculpture in 2022, is in residence for the spring semester. His powerful work is based on his military experience in the US Marine Corps and the lasting physical and emotional impact of his service. While in residence he will be presenting a community based workshop to other veterans through the local VA, an exhibition at the end of the semester and multiple artist talks/workshops this semester. He will use this work in future exhibitions around the country.
The alumni artist in residence program also benefits current UCA students who get to observe and engage with active early career artists working towards their goals in the studio. Students are able to attend residents workshops and artist talks and some can participate in their community engagement projects. Many current students have commented on the value of having these alumni residents around.
We would LOVE to have you apply for this opportunity for the 2025/2026 academic year. As you will see from the application we are seeking alumni who have been actively pursuing their professional careers as artists and designers. Candidates must have a focused goal they wish to attain through this residency. For example, graduate school, job or future residency applications, and scheduled exhibitions or commision among other things would qualify. Please read the application carefully and if you feel it is something that you would like to be considered for please apply.
The deadline to apply is the second Monday in April.
