For our final concert of the 2018-2019 season, the Lone Star College-CyFair Symphony Orchestra was joined by the Houston Hispanic Choir - the sweetest, most energetic group of musicians, performing music of Argentina and Venezuela. It's so wonderful to expand our music-making into the community!

3G PERCUSSION performs tonight (Saturday, March 23) at 7.30 pm at Lone Star College-Cyfair (Center for the Arts, Main Stage Theater). Performance includes music of Kaaija Saariaho, John Cage, Steve Reich, Andy Akiho, Nathan Mays, and Jason Treuting. Please visit our beautiful campus this evening for a real treat. Admission free. Composer and shakuhachi soloist Shawn Renzoh Head performing a work of Hsin-Jung Tsai. Both composers are featured on our Friday, March 22 evening concert (7.30 pm) with our Symphony Orchestra (Dr. Brian Herrington, director) in two world premiere performances - including shakuhachi soloist and composer Shawn Renzoh Head, and composer Tsin-Jung Tsai. Plus a wild ride of a piece by Frank Felice. Also featuring chamber music by Nathan Mays and Thomas Bailey, faculty at Lone Star College-Tomball, as well as Kyle Rivera, student of Dr. Rob Smith at UofH.

Our Saturday, March 23 evening concert (7.30 pm) features 3G Percussion in concert.

Lone Star College-CyFair's symphonic orchestra and jazz ensemble will perform back-to-back on Dec. 6, including a dance-based performance followed by a performance saluting service members and veterans. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Food for Thought Food Pantry in The Empowerment Center.
