- #15 Professors Get High Marks
- #17 Happiest Students

These rankings are based entirely on student surveys, reflecting what students themselves say about a campus where faith is deeply lived and professors bring learning to life.

UD was also named among The Best 392 Colleges for 2027, a Best Value College and a Best Southwest College, and was recently recognized among Money’s Best Colleges in America 2026.

University of Dallas graduate Nadia Guerrero, BS '25, recently received her acceptance into The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at UNT Health Fort Worth. Pursuing this opportunity, Nadia is looking forward to continuing her journey towards her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.

As a first-generation Mexican American college graduate, Nadia’s achievement is especially meaningful. Nationally, 27% of first-generation college students graduate within four years, but at UD, first-generation students are far exceeding that figure, with a 74% graduation rate.
Nadia credits mentors throughout her undergraduate years, including Dr. Saadia Bihmidine, assistant professor of biology, with helping her along the way.

On behalf of the University of Dallas, we wish Nadia best of luck in her endeavors towards her goal of serving her community as a physician.

From the rise of AI to the loss of a shared intellectual inheritance, President Sanford reflects on the role universities can play in forming people who think clearly, speak with eloquence, bring faith and reason into conversation and lead with purpose.

“We need to recover the call to greatness, the call to be a leading citizen in society. … We need people who are actually going to lead the institutions that we spend all this time complaining about.”

Recently, the chair of the University of Dallas Drama Department, Prof. Kyle Lemiuex, completed a program which involved residents of the Henry Wade Juvenile Detention Center in the arts of drama. Working directly with incarcerated youth for 3 months, Prof. Lemiuex led these students in a production of Shakespeare's Hamlet which culminated in a performance on August 24.

This program, dedicated to bringing Shakespeare to incarcerated students, is only the second of its kind in the United States. Prof. Lemiuex has commented on the program's amazing results:

"You could see the transformation in them. It speaks to the power of the arts and specifically the power of theater to transform lives."

Drawn to the University of Dallas by its Great Books-centered Core and the Rome program, Dr. William Allegrezza, BA ’96, found a place where he could grow intellectually and personally.

Since graduating, he has built a career in higher education, advanced to a distinguished full professor and academic leadership role at Indiana University Northwest, published 18 books and supported countless writers and students along the way. Through it all, the grounding he received at UD has remained foundational.

“In the long run, I remember UD’s core curriculum more than many of my major classes. That grounding has carried me through much of my life, and I’m glad I took it seriously.”
