St. Louis-area UD alumni! Join Eileen Spinner, BA ’04, who will be a featured speaker at Tell Me Why You're Catholic, a free evangelization workshop organized by the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Designed for grandparents and future grandparents, the workshop will explore ways to share the Catholic faith with younger generations. Participants will also receive a complimentary Catholic journal.

Exploring Mozart's Requiem: Music, Drama, and Theology

Join the University of Dallas for a special symposium exploring Mozart's Requiem through the lenses of music, drama, and theology.

The program will feature:
- A dramatic reading from Peter Shaffer's Amadeus by UD drama students
- A discussion of the theology of the Requiem Mass with Dr. Chris Malloy
- Reflections on Mozart's masterpiece with Dr. Ivan Eidt

Friday, Nov. 6 | 4–5 p.m.

Haggar Art History Auditorium

Following the symposium, attendees are invited to experience the 6:30 p.m. dress rehearsal for the Requiem concert at the Church of the Incarnation.

Angie Geehan, BA ’03, is showcasing her paintings throughout October at the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See, where fellow UD alumnus Brian Burch, BA ’97, serves as U.S. Ambassador.

After graduating with a degree in theology, Angie spent two years as a resident coordinator for UD's Rome Program. Today, she's an exhibiting artist in the city she calls home.

The UD connection continues as current Rome Program students plan to visit the exhibition and see her artwork firsthand next week!

From alumni to current students, it's wonderful to see the UD community connecting across generations in the Eternal City.

Congratulations to the two University of Dallas alumni classes that won the data enrichment and validation competition!

Class agents, Sara Werth, BA '99, and Charlotte Williams, BA '96, provided the most alumni contact information for members of their classes. These substantial identity corrections have given UD concrete information to improve its records.

As thanks for their impressive contribution in the competition, the UD bookstore is offering 30% off of one apparel or gift item for alumni from the Classes of '99 and '96 through the end of October (alumni in these classes should use the barcode sent to them via email).

In celebration of Columbus Day, the University of Dallas' chapter of the Knights of Columbus hosted a cookout. This event was just one of the many examples of this organization's community building events.

The Knights of Columbus is an organization dedicated to the service of men in the Catholic Church, and UD's council continues to grow. The UD Knights currently have about 65 members involved in charitable service, fraternal faith formation, and liturgical services, including ushering and altar serving.

The UD council of Knights has also led two Eucharistic processions and started a mentorship program on campus. The chapter has been officially recognized for their achievements at the Knights of Columbus' College Council's conference.

In addition, as part of Columbus Day, UD students are celebrating with the Annual Columbus Day lecture, "Why Couldn't Columbus Sail East? Columbus in the Shadow of Genghis Khan" with UD Alumnus James Bell, Class of 2007.

Last weekend, a German tradition made its return to the University of Dallas Irving campus!

Students donned their lederhosen, tested their skills in a German spelling bee, and shared in fellowship in celebration of Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest is a festival that first began in 1810 and is centrally hosted in Munich annually. The tradition spread globally and is now a favorite celebration of UD students.

These festivities have been held on the UD campus for several years as a reminder of UD's connection with Western Europe. Not only do we partake in their educational tradition, but we share in their celebrations as well!
