The Kappa Phi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. confidently supports Denim Day! Our chapter is in constant advocacy and support of Demin Day through raising awareness and uplifting survivors!
Denim Day is an annual campaign that flips a simple outfit into a powerful protest against victim-blaming in cases of sexual violence.
How did we get here?
Well! In the 1990s, Italy’s highest court, the Italian Supreme Court, overturned a r**e conviction because they argued the victim’s tight jeans meant she must have “helped remove them,” implying consent.
Now, Denim Day happens every year on the last Wednesday of April, and people wear denim not for fashion, but as a visible statement against victim-blaming
Clothing does not equal consent of any shape or form!
