Thank you SO MUCH to Sen. Sarah McBride and Melanie Ross Levin with Delaware Office of Women's Advancement & Advocacy for being our speakers at tonight's dinner meeting. Your work as advocates and supporters of women and girls in Delaware is so commendable!

Today, at our in-person meeting, we were treated to an incredible presentation from Dr. Myrna Nurse. Dr. Nurse is a Professor of English and Women's and Gender Studies at Delaware State University . She discussed the contributions of many black women that led the way in feminism, activism, and advocacy. One powerful quote came from Mary Church Terrell, the founding member of the NAACP, who coined the motto "Lifting as we climb". As Dr. Nurse concluded, we have so much left to do, but we must share the stories of those that have gotten us here.

Also, a huge thank you to the City of Milford, De for hosting us!

On Women's Equality Day, The Office of Women's Advancement and Advocacy applauds the efforts of those groundbreaking activists who fought for women to have the right to vote, celebrates the outstanding achievements of women, and continues advocating for all women, especially those in the state of Delaware! We’d also like to give a huge thanks to Governor Carney and Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long for signing this proclamation in observance of Women’s Equality Day ❤️
