As we prepare for our DPT3 students to graduate tomorrow, we would like to congratulate some graduates who have helped our students learn and grow over the past few years.

Congratulations to the fellows of the Army-Baylor Division 1 Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship on their graduation last week! Over the past two years, the West Point fellows provided mentorship during practical examinations and shared their expertise during lectures. Most recently they were here a few weeks ago as pictured in the top right photo. Their professionalism and leadership were great examples for our students to aspire to. Scranton DPT Associate Professor Dr. Michael Crowell, PT, DSc, former fellowship program director, was the guest speaker for their graduation ceremony.

This semester our students were hard at work serving our community in more ways than one. During the Teaching and Learning in PT course, DPT2 students complete community based learning projects where they present educational presentations throughout our area. Examples include those pictured: speaking about nutrition to students at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Elementary, speaking to older adults about lifelong wellness at UNC Fallbrook in Carbondale, educating about exercise and fall prevention at UNC Oppenheim, and speaking to a Parkinson’s support group about mindfulness. Excellent job to everyone!!
