Friends and family,
In 2023, the Hodges Family established the Carl D. Hodges, Sr. Memorial Endowment Scholarship at NC A&T in honor of my grandfather, Carl Sr., who passed away in 2020.
Thanks to your incredible support, this year we reached our campaign goal of $25k! 🙏🏾 Thank you!
This scholarship will provide financial assistance to incoming Aggie students with a minimum 3.5 GPA who reside in Durham, Cumberland, or Northampton County, NC.
My grandfather graduated from NC A&T in 1954 with a B.S. in Agricultural Education. He went on to dedicate 35 years of service to the NC Cooperative Extension Service, ultimately becoming North Carolina’s—and the nation’s—first Black County Director. More than a career, he built a legacy of Aggie Pride that continues to flow through our family from generation to generation.
Today, Carl Sr. would have celebrated his 105th birthday. In honor of what would have been his 105th birthday, we’re asking you to consider making a contribution to the endowment so that together, we can support and empower future Aggies.
