A great day of learning and collaboration in Australia! Thank you to ASPACI and Victoria Police for hosting a Traffic Crash Reconstruction Refresher, bringing together nearly 30 reconstruction professionals from across Australia and multiple countries for hands-on training, knowledge sharing, and networking.

Last week, our Crash Division Director Adam Hyde presented at the 2026 IACP Impaired Driving & Traffic Safety Conference in Anaheim, California.

His session, “What the Evidence Really Says: Reconstructing Impaired-Driving Crashes Through Physics and Evidence,” used a real-world fatal collision to demonstrate how multiple reconstruction methods can be cross-checked to verify findings, reduce bias and build defensible conclusions.

We’re proud to have Adam sharing NUCPS expertise with traffic safety professionals from across the country.

Congratulation Chief Chase! SPSC 622 grad. We are proud of you!

This evening at the East Hempfield Township Board of Supervisors meeting we recognized the retirement of our Chief of Police, Jennifer Brubaker, after 26 years of serving the residents, visitors, and business owners of East Hempfield Township. More than half of her life was dedicated to upholding the law and making our community a safer place for everyone. Chief Brubaker, thank you for a job well done! We wish you and your family all the best in your retirement! Don’t be a stranger!

Following the recognition of Chief Brubaker’s retirement, Lt Christopher Chase was sworn in as the next Chief of Police. Chris, thank you for your willingness to step into this role and become the next leader of East Hempfield Township Police Department. There can be no doubt that the Township is in good hands. Congratulations!

Friday marked the end of an era—the Tom Wilson Era, known to many of you simply as “Top Shelf.”

As the saying goes, all good things must eventually come to an end, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize and express my gratitude for nearly two decades of dedicated service.

Tom may not be on Facebook, but for those of you who know him, please take a moment to reach out, congratulate him, and wish him well on his retirement as a course director.

Tom, thank you for everything you have given over the years—your time, dedication, leadership, and countless contributions. Your impact has been felt by so many, and you will be greatly missed.

Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement, Tom. Cheers to your next chapter!

Richard Schaffer started his career with the Cheltenham Township Police Department as a patrol officer in 2000. He’ll now be leading the department.
