Missed Primary Recruitment? No worries! You can still join one of our chapters through a process called continuous open Bidding (COB). What is COB?

It is a way for Potential New Members (PNMs) to meet Panhellenic sisters in a relaxed setting and ask any questions they have about the chapter. Unlike Fall Primary Recruitment, PNMs are not required to attend events for all of our sororities. Each sorority host their own COB events. To learn more about what each chapter is doing, check out their Instagrams!

Meet Panhellenic President, Sophia Diana.
"Being on Panhellenic Exec has shown me what it means to be a leader. Before being President, I had held positions in my chapter and in different organizations on campus, but I was never the one in charge. It helped me develop the skills necessary to lead the council. One of the hardest parts about my position is knowing that there will be times I mess up and knowing that I won’t be able to make everyone happy. Those times are hard, but my exec board and advisor have been incredibly supportive and helpful. I could not have managed this position without them. My favorite aspect of being on exec is meeting all of the people in our community and hearing their different ideas and opinions for events.

There are so many things I would want to say to the next council. Communication is so important. Extend grace to the community, exec members, and yourself. Lastly, don’t be afraid to stick up for yourself and your ideas, if you believe in it, go for it."

Being on Panhellenic Executive Council gives you the opportunity to represent your chapter and be a leader in the Panhellenic community. Applications for next year's Panhellenic Executive Council are currently open and can be accessed through our linktree. More information on each of these positions can also be found on our linktree.

Meet our Head Recruitment Counselor: Rebecca Durant

"Being in Panhellenic has impacted my collegiate experience because not only do I have sisters in my chapter, but I also have a community of women outside of my chapter to lean on for support. I wanted to be head RC this year because I had such a positive experience being an RC last year, and I wanted to give back to the Panhellenic community. I am so excited for recruitment this year, and I cannot wait to for the women going through recruitment to meet my AMAZING team. They are ready to assist these women going through recruitment to help them find their forever home."

As head Recruitment Counselor, Rebbeca leads an amazing team of women that will guide and assist potential new members throughout the Recruitment process. Make sure to attend some pre-recruitment events to meet the RCs as well as our other Panhellenic sisters.

Philanthropy Spotlight: Alpha Omicron Pi✨

“Our national and local philanthropy is the Arthritis Foundation, and we focus specifically on Juvenile Arthritis. Some events we host include Arthritis Week, which is a week long of events including a BBQ and Pi-an-AOII. All proceeds go to the Arthritis Foundation. We also have our annual Strikeout Arthritis, in which we partner with the Nationals and attend a baseball game with all of our sisters, Arthritis representatives, and guests at Nats park. I cannot wait for our future events in the Fall, and I am so proud of my chapter and their efforts toward the Arthritis Foundation.❤️” - Julia McIntyre, Alpha Omicron Pi Philanthropy Chair

Philanthropy Spotlight: Alpha Phi ✨

“Alpha Phi’s philanthropy is the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of Women’s Heart Health, with efforts to empower women through the power of philanthropy. Our chapter is able to support the foundation by hosting various philanthropy events including: Alpha Phifa, Alpha Phreeze, Coff-Phi, Mac n’ Phis, King of Hearts, and my personal favorite our Red Dress Gala! This year was our 13th Annual Red Dress Gala where we invited friends, family, and community members to come together for a night full of keynote speakers, live performers, and auctions, all in support of Women’s Heart Health. At this event alone we were able to raise over $22,000 dollars for the Alpha Phi Foundation! Within the past decade, Eta Lambda has been able to raise a grand total of over $200,000 for our philanthropy! I’m so proud of all that Eta Lambda has been able to accomplish with our philanthropy and can’t wait to be back on campus supporting my favorite cause with my favorite people❤️”

Philanthropy Spotlight: Alpha Xi Delta✨

“We are partners with Autism Speaks and every year, we host an AmaXIng Challenge and participate in our local Autism Speaks Walk that is held in DC. Our biggest fundraising out of the two would be for the walk :)”

Philanthropy Spotlight: Chi Omega ✨

"Our national philanthropy is Make-A-Wish, specifically Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic right here in the DMV area! Through volunteering and fundraising, we assist in granting wishes to courageous kids. Some events we host include Night Under the Stars, a silent auction and dinner, and Chi-Olympics, a fun day filled with field day games and competitions. We also host Pie a Chi Omega and Kisses for Wishes. All of the proceeds go directly to Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic. Chi Omega is so eager and excited to support the Make-A-Wish foundation and looks forward to continuing our fundraising efforts in the fall semester. I am so proud of what my chapter has accomplished so far in their philanthropy efforts to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation!!"

Philanthropy Spotlight: Gamma Phi Beta✨

“Our national philanthropy is Building Strong Girls! We most often achieve this with our philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run, specifically Girls on the Run of NOVA. However, since our philanthropy Building Strong Girls is not a concrete charity, and more of a motto, we are able to partner with any charity that focuses on empowering young girls. This leads to us having a wide range of charities we can work with! Events that we do as a chapter to support our philanthropy are Moonball (a kickball tournament), GPhi Joe (a series of field day competitions), and my personal favorite, volunteering for Girls on the Run of NOVA (most often the 5ks they host every semester). I am so proud of everything this chapter has done for our philanthropy efforts and can’t wait to continue raising money to Build Strong Girls and, more importantly, see the young girls that we are helping at events! Philanthropy Spotlight: Kappa Delta✨

"Our national philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America, and we work closely with our local beneficiary, Safe Spot Children’s Advocacy Center in Fairfax. Every year we host a Shamrock event called Wingo where we eat wings and play bingo! 80% of proceeds go to Safe Spot, and 20% goes towards National Prevent Child Abuse America. I am so proud of the hard work from our chapter in our efforts to raise money and awareness for PCAA and Safe Spot, and I cannot wait to return in the fall to continue to spread awareness on this important issue!"

Philanthropy Spotlight: Pi Beta Phi ✨

"Our national philanthropy is the Pi Beta Phi Foundation. Through our signature reading initiative Read > Lead > Achieve, we strive to inspire a lifelong love of reading in children that can unlock true potential and create a more literate society. One in four children will grow up functionally illiterate, and we believe that is one too many. With Pi Phi’s reading enrichment program Champions are Readers (CAR), sisters visit elementary schools and volunteer time and resources to aid in reading comprehension. This year, our chapter held a CAR program at a nonprofit elementary school in Alexandria for low-income families. Every week, we were able to support our philanthropy hands-on by reading to and interacting with the kids. We host an annual volleyball tournament called Arrowspike and typically hold smaller events throughout the year as well. [One of our smaller events is] Pie a Pi Phi. Proceeds from these events go towards the Literacy Fund of the Pi Beta Phi Foundation. I am looking forward to further supporting our philanthropy in the Fall!"

Philanthropy Spotlight: Zeta Tau Alpha ✨

Zeta's philanthropy is Breast Cancer and Education Awareness. Some of our major events are BMOC (Big Man on Campus), Zeta Bowl, Pie a Zeta, and PINKnic. We attend, along with many other ZTA Chapters, The Crucial Catch Game to pass out ribbons at a Redskins game because one of our partnerships is with the NFL. [We also] host the Think Pink Basketball game where we partner with Mason Athletics. I have seen this philanthropy change many lives, and I am so excited to see what the future of the organization brings to the many people affected by this disease each day. Our sisters work so hard towards our philanthropy and I'm so excited to share this with Fall ‘20 and continue our dedication and support for such an important cause.
