Student Environmental Action Showcase
Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Join us April 21, 2020 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, engage your critical thinking skills and get into hands-on environment work at SEAS 2020!!! Registration will be up in the next week for Eco teams. Any eco team of students with an adult sponsor can attend. Private schools and homeschoolers welcome along with public school teams. This year's Eco Art activity is Trashion Fashion!! Get your outfits made and walk the runway! Other activities include:

1. General Showcase (K-12) Bring a small tabletop display to tell others about your eco-action
2. Partner Village (K-12) Engage in hands-on activities with environmental professionals
3. Caring for Our Watersheds (6-10) Create a watershed improvement proposal for a chance to win implementation funding. Applications due March 13. See https://caringforourwatersheds.com/usa/chesapeake-bay/contests/
4. High School Track (9-12) Explore careers, campus tours, network with college and high school students, work with Envirothon finalists
5. Our Power (selected schools--tell us what you are working on) Develop an environmental policy idea with elected officials or advocacy efforts
6. VT Thinkabit Lab Create technological enviro-tools

Registration is open for the 2018 NoVA Outside School Environmental Action Showcase (SEAS) at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on Tuesday, April 10. Here are the ways student groups from kindergarten through high school can participate in SEAS:

bring a display of environmental projects at your school for the General Showcase.
create your school's mascot out of recyclable materials and display it in the Recycled Mascot Challenge.
present an idea for cleaning up their watershed in the Caring for Our Watersheds competition (grades 6-10 only; proposals due March 9).
engage in hands-on green STEAM activities hosted by local, state, and national organizations addressing environmental topics. http://www.novaoutside.org/events/school-environmental-action-showcase/
