All members can feel proud that they played a key role in this historic victory for collective bargaining rights in Virginia. Even though legislators cut us out, we acted in solidarity with our fellow civil servants and now 1000s of families will have the protection of a union. To the legislature we say this: get used to seeing our faces. We'll keep coming back until faculty and graduate workers have their bargaining rights restored!

Why do VA faculty need collective bargaining? Over 50% of faculty in VA are untenured and work long hours with low pay. Yet top admins are, ahem, extremely well paid. Time to help those working directly with students!! CB rights for all!

Come to our collective bargaining town hall at Ornery Beer Co. in Fairfax City on 2/28 at 2pm!

Here's the situation: the VA legislature is working on a collective bargaining bill that includes higher education workers like faculty, grad students, staff, and wage workers. Take a minute to think about what a union could mean for you, and call/email your state legislators. Tell them to vote YES on SB378 and yes for collective bargaining for*ALL* state employees, including higher ed AND home care workers!! Don't know the names of your legislators? Easy search link in bio. There is power in a union!
