Our art professor, Joel Dugan, spent his summer making West Virginia his canvas through public art murals. With the help of the America250 grant, Joel was able to have students lead the design efforts for the murals for the first time. Experiences like the ones Joel led this summer help our students gain hands-on experience in their disciplines and lasting memories of their time at Fairmont State. Thank you to everyone who attended our first Presidential Speaker Series event of the semester. Rajiv Vinnakota's talk was informative and exciting in regards to civic engagement with college students. His background as the President of the Institute for Citizens & Scholars, as well as his experience visiting and working with higher education institutions of all sizes, made the conversation between him and Dr. Davis even more impactful for our campus. Thank you, Raj, for a great discussion! 🎙️
