The Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation (PALCI) and the Ruth Ann Musick Library at Fairmont State University today announced that Fairmont State has joined the PALCI consortium as its 82nd member institution, with membership effective July 1, 2026. The PALCI Board of Directors formally approved the membership on April 30, following a review by the PALCI Membership Committee and a comment period open to all PALCI voting representatives. In this month's presidential update, President Davis spoke to Fairmont City Manager, Travis Blosser, about the area on Locust Avenue that was impacted by the 2025 Father's Day Flood. They also spoke about new opportunities with the space and, how as a regional public institution, Fairmont State University wants to deepen connections with local residents and create spaces where everybody is welcomed, valued, and wants to spend time.

Join us ON THE ROAD! 🤩❤️ President Mike Davis will be visiting Raleigh, Wyoming, and McDowell counties with 60+ Falcons, following his solo statewide summer tour in 2025. On the Road with Fairmont State will bring students, faculty, staff, leaders, and alumni directly into communities across the state to listen, connect, and build lasting partnerships.

The trip begins with a kickoff event at Twin Falls Resort on July 13, followed by county-wide events, community tours, and meaningful conversations with the people and places that make West Virginia special.

Those interested in attending On the Road events can join on:
🗓️ July 13 at 6:00 PM for the kickoff event at Twin Falls Resort
🗓️ July 14 at 6:00 PM at Wyoming East High School
🗓️ July 15 at 6:00 PM at the Jack Caffrey Arts and Cultural Center in McDowell County
