Western Equestrian Team at UCF The official page for the UCF Western Equestrian Team in Orlando, Florida. During the post-season, we send our top riders to regionals and semi-finals.

The Equestrian Club at the University of Central Florida was founded in 2002 with four members that were the sole caretakers of UCF's Equine Mascot, "Pegasus." Today, the club is considered a "Tier Three" Sport Club at UCF and includes three competitive teams with over 50 members. Coached by Avery Sinclair, the Western Team competes in Zone 5 Region 5 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). During the regular season, they compete in two disciplines-- Western Horsemanship and Reining all over the state of Florida. If you are interested in become a member, would like to make a donation/become a sponsor, or would like us to make an appearance please send us a message. We would love to hear from you!

🏆 Celebrating Our Team Captain! 🏆

We could not be prouder of our UCF Western Equestrian Team Captain, Lexi Haughey, and one of our team horses, Big Reputation, also known as Kenicki! 🖤💛

Lexi has continued training and competing hard throughout the off-season. She spent two weeks in Oklahoma competing at the NSBA World Championship Show, and she is now competing at the AQHA, NSBA, and APHA The Championship Show at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.

Today, all of that hard work paid off when Lexi and Kenicki earned their first “BIG” win together! Even more impressive, it came in Lexi’s newest class, the one in which she has the least experience.

They were named the unanimous champions under all six judges!

🏆 APHA Amateur WT Trail
🏆 NSBA Amateur WT Trail

Lexi and Kenicki got to take home the NSBA trophy, a gorgeous belt buckle, a neck ribbon, and a very nice check! 💰

As the head of our team, Lexi leads by example. Her dedication, determination, sportsmanship, and willingness to keep learning are exactly what we want our UCF riders to represent.

Congratulations, Lexi and Kenicki! You DID IT!! We are so proud of you both! 🏆🖤💛

Are you looking for a team that will support you, challenge you, and celebrate your accomplishments? Come ride with us and become part of the UCF Western Equestrian Team! Message us to learn how to get involved. 🤠🐴
