Communication competence is your key to survival in today’s dynamic, fast-paced world. By learning how to better interpret messages you receive and clearly convey your ideas to others, you empower yourself with the skills you need to revolutionize every aspect of your life—from attaining professional/career goals to strengthening personal relationships. While maintaining the University of Michigan tradition, the University of Michigan-Flint campus offers an intimate, urban setting rich with opportunities to apply the knowledge you are learning in the classroom to a real world context. Internships, civic engagement courses, research, study/work abroad—these experiences will develop true expertise in the field of communication and provide you with the creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems both in the workplace and your community. Our small student-to-professor ratio of 16:1 allows you close interaction with faculty to develop mentorships and extend your network of connections in the field. UM-Flint was recently included in the 2015 edition of Best Colleges for Regional Universities (Midwest) published by US News & World Report.
