Join us as we celebrate the grand reopening of Christman Airfield!
Stop by on Saturday, June 27, from 7 a.m. to noon at Christman Airfield in Fort Collins to explore airplanes and drones on display, connect with aviation and aerospace exhibitors, and enjoy a free pancake breakfast for the first 200 attendees.

With a brand new asphalt surface, runway lighting and updated weather reporting, CSU's private airfield is positioned for continued service as a UAV research hub, Colorado wildfire heli-base and emergency management asset (which we really hope we don't need to utilize this season).

As one of Colorado's oldest continuously-operating airfields, Christman Field is ready to welcome the community back for a morning of aviation, innovation, and family-friendly fun. Whether you walk, bike, drive, or FLY in, we hope to see you there!

Registration is free - https://col.st/sviz5

UAV mapping, modeling and multispectral, oh my!

The Drone Center team hosted our very popular Mapping & Modeling seminar at the CSU Foothills Campus and ARDEC research plots this week, and spent time training many new GIS pilots and industry professionals in this technical discipline using a variety of RGB, LiDAR and multi-spectral sensors.

Multiple DJI and NDAA systems were present and airborne, along with a particularly curious gaggle of Canada geese, who we luckily managed to avoid. Stay tuned this fall for our next session!
