Iota Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® was chartered on December 15, 1973 in Fort Wayne, Indiana as part of the Confident, Committed, and Connected Central Region. The Chapter has worked diligently to enhance the Alpha Kappa Alpha presence in the local community throughout the greater Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.® was founded in 1908 on the

campus of Howard University and serves as the first Greek-letter organization for African-American women.
