Witnessing Bears Feeding and Fighting in Alaska

The sound of water crashing over rocks.

A group of massive brown bears had gathered along the riverbank, their thick fur glistening with droplets of water.

But not all was peaceful. A sudden deep growl broke the rhythm of the hunt. Two large bears squared off...
The tension was thick as they circled each other, muscles rippling beneath their fur. Then, with a sudden explosion of power, they lunged. The impact sent water spraying in all directions. They swiped and bit, their roars echoing through the valley.

Everyone was still
It was electric, terrifying even, since we were intruders in their territory.

Watching these bears in their raw, natural state—both in harmony with and in competition against each other—was a humbling reminder of nature’s untamed power.
