The mission of CAIRES at the University of Florida is to stimulate the development of products, services, policies and programs that have long-term social and environmental benefits by wedding creativity to responsible foresight through systems thinking, ethical values, transdisciplinary collaboration, and cross-sectoral partnering. Its purpose is to enhance the adaptive capacity and agility of or
ganizations, communities and businesses by stimulating initiative, innovation, and accountability. The resilience of natural and social systems, businesses, governments, and organizations—their ability to flourish in the face of change—is a product of their capacity to creatively adapt while sustaining core values and relationships. CAIRES’s mandate is to generate adaptive innovation in the service of resilience. By fostering a culture of creativity and forging it with the pursuit of sustainable prosperity, CAIRES provides a catalytic learning environment and research incubator while serving its clients, the State of Florida, the nation, and the broader world community. The University of Florida CAIRES center intends to educate, inform and provide updated information on CAIRES activities and to support and promote the CAIRES objectives for these activities through its social media site. All CAIRES comments are made by CAIRES designees. This site is not a public forum.
