Galveston Alphas - Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha (ΑΦΑ) is the first African American, inter-collegiate Greek-lettered fraternity found. is based in Galveston, Texas.

The Gamma Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha was chartered in 1942 and is seated on Galveston Island, Texas. Founded on Tuesday, January 20, 1942, the Gamma Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Inc. For more 70 years, we have been focused on our Aims: Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.

Galveston, Texas has fared well with the landfall of Tropical Storm Edouard. We were on the “clean” side of the storm. There was a bit of wind and light drizzle. No storm surge whatsoever.
