This weekend, Brother George Sills Jr. and I had the privilege of witnessing the induction of Honorable Brother Keith S. Smith into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.’s Distinguished Service Chapter (DSC).

With only 213 men receiving this distinction since 1959, what an incredible honor! It was inspiring to hear about the countless lives he has impacted through genuine service, leadership, and brotherhood. From serving as the youngest State Director to chartering three undergraduate chapters to establishing a Sigma Beta Club in Charlotte to mentoring countless brothers into servant-leaders….and that’s just in Sigma-Land! His professional and fraternal service has spoken for itself, his leadership has left an imprint, and his legacy continues to inspire. He often reminds others to “Be the Brand,” and there is no question, he lives the brand.

Congratulations, Honorable Brother Smith (DSC, #212), on this well-deserved recognition!

Special thanks to his wife and daughter, Sorors Shannon and Celeste, for their gracious hospitality and for welcoming the sisterhood to celebrate alongside them. And shout-out to all my Sorors of Area 1B who showed up to support! 💙🤍

It’s always a good time when we can spend time with not only our Blue & White Family, but our entire Divine Nine family, learning, leading, serving, and enjoying genuine fellowship along the way.
