Since 2015, ’s Driving and Community Mobility Bootcamp has helped teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorder learn through real-world experiences while preparing occupational therapy students through hands-on training.

For the Results:

Not only is the most affordable Doctor of Physical Therapy program in North Carolina, the most recent published data from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy supports that our results also are the best in the state. state-best 98.3% first-time NPTE pass rate covers the 2024 and 2025 graduating classes.
And our Class of 2026 physical therapy students just earned a 96.8% first-time pass rate and a mean scaled score of 712.1, nearly 44 points above the US average.

We're so proud of our students and the faculty who prepared them. Congratulations to our newest and all Pirate physical therapists!

A full-circle moment in public health:

Kétyle Gurrola, alumni and donor engagement organizer with Student Action with Farmworkers, spoke to students in HLTH 4605, Community Strategies for Health Education. Gurrola is an public health alum and former intern with SAF.

The presentation included internship and career opportunities specifically working with the farmworker community, giving students an opportunity to see strategies utilized to reach individuals to aid in improving their health. Gurrola was in HLTH 4605 in 2023 before completing the HLTH 4991 internship requirement with SAF.
