Assistant Clinical Professor Meza proudly participated in this year’s Autism Awareness 5K. She shared that this event holds a special place in her heart, as it brings awareness to individuals with autism, something deeply meaningful to her both personally and professionally. As a pediatric nurse, she has cared for patients with autism, and as a Psychiatric Clinical Professor, she continues to guide nursing students in providing compassionate care to individuals with autism and disabilities. This experience was even more memorable as she shared it with her family, celebrating her daughter’s very first race together. A moment filled with purpose, pride, and inspiration. Raising awareness, leading by example, and inspiring the next generation both at home and in the clinical setting.

Assistant Clinical Professor Stephanie Meza recently achieved a major milestone by completing her first triathlon at McGee Beach, embodying the same courage and growth she encourages in her students. From the open-water swim to the bike ride and run, she pushed beyond her comfort zone and led by example.
Her journey was made even more meaningful by the support of her community—surprised by her mentee James with a thoughtful gift and joined by student Guadalupe during the run for encouragement.
Grateful for the support of family, friends, students, and the TAMU-CC community, this accomplishment highlights perseverance, community, and the power of leading by example.

Assistant Clinical Professor Meza’s Psychiatric Clinical group demonstrated outstanding performance throughout their clinical rotation. Students engaged professionally and compassionately with patients experiencing mental health conditions and disabilities, gaining meaningful insight and a broader perspective on mental health care. I am incredibly proud of their growth, dedication, and all they have accomplished this semester. Their hard work and commitment truly reflect their readiness for the next step in their journey.
