As we prepare for the first day of undergraduate and graduate classes, we want to make everyone aware of several parking updates for the upcoming semester. Please review the changes below and consult the updated parking maps available on the Parking website.

Parking Updates

1. First-Year and Sophomore Commuter Parking (UCW Permit)
Students with a UCW (First-Year and Sophomore Commuter) permit may park in the following locations:
• Westwoods
• Whitney Village
• York Hill Garage
• North Haven Garage
• North Haven Surface Lots marked with student parking signage
• Whitney Lot – currently closed

Please note that the Whitney Lot is currently closed due to repaving but is expected to reopen soon. We will make an announcement when it opens.

To improve transportation options, a new Gold Shuttle has been added to the shuttle schedule. The Gold Shuttle is an express service that operates between Westwoods, Whitney (when open), and the Mount Carmel shuttle stop.
• Gold Shuttle hours: Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• All other shuttle routes continue to serve Westwoods and Whitney Lots and will operate according to the published schedules and parkers in Whitney and Westwoods will have shuttle service from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekends.

2. North Lot Changes
The separate designations for the Northwest Faculty/Staff Lot and Northwest Commuter Lot have been eliminated. These areas are now part of the North Lot.
The North Lot is available to:
• Residential senior and graduate students
• Commuter junior, senior, graduate, doctoral, law, and medical students

By relocating first-year and sophomore commuters to other designated lots, we expect to provide sufficient parking capacity in the North Lot for eligible parkers.

3. Tator Lot Renaming
The Buckman/Tator Lot has been renamed the Tator Lot following the removal of the Buckman building.
• Parking is restricted to faculty and staff
• Vendors may not park in the Tator lot but can park in most other campus lots as permitted

4. Westview and M&T Lot Updates
The Westview parking area has been reconfigured.
• Westview Lot (the section farthest from the arena) is available to:
o Residential junior, senior, and graduate students
o Faculty and staff
o Vendors
• M&T Lot (the section closest to the arena) is available only to:
o Faculty and staff
o Visitors

5. Parking Citation Minimum Fine
The minimum fine for any parking violation is now $50.

Additional Information
Please review the updated PDF maps for detailed lot locations and permit information.

The parking website has been updated to reflect these changes. Please note that the PDF version of the Parking Rules and Regulations is currently being revised and will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you for your cooperation, and best wishes for a successful semester.
