Last week, VGCC was honored to welcome residents of Butner's Veterans Life Center to campus 🇺🇸🪖🫡 During their visit, the veterans toured our Welding Technology and Automotive Technology facilities and learned how these programs can help build rewarding careers as they transition to civilian life.

From the classroom to the workshop and even the Governor’s Mansion in Raleigh, 11 local youth are causing a buzz this summer, thanks to a groundbreaking collaboration between VGCC and Granville County Public Schools ⚡🧑‍🔧🔌

These students are part of our inaugural Careers Electric Summer Academy, where they’re earning college credit toward a certificate, building skills with local industry partners, and making real progress toward future careers in the electrical trade—all while getting paid.

This week, participants Asya and Elliotte attended a special luncheon at the Governor’s Mansion, highlighting the impact of the program and the opportunities it's creating for students across our state. Thank you both for representing us so well! 👏

Not only is our Careers Electric Academy one of just 12 taking place across NC this summer, but our state is the first in the nation to launch the initiative, thanks to the generous support of the Siemens Foundation and the North Carolina Business Committee for Education.
