Last Tuesday evening, the Sir Knights of Muskogee Commandery No. 2 received Sir Knight Steven E. Cox, Eminent Grand Captain General, as the personal representative of our Right Eminent Grand Commander.
Muskogee Commandery No. 2 was granted a dispensation to form by the Grand Encampment Knights Templar of the United States on the 1st of October, 1891, and chartered on the 11th of August, 1892.
The first Eminent Commander was Sir Knight Robert W. Hill, who went on to become the first Grand Commander of the Indian Territory in 1895. When Muskogee Commandery was chartered, it was the first on the roll of the Indian Territory. Muskogee Commandery was renumbered as No. 2 when the Indian Territory was folded into Oklahoma in 1911, as Guthrie Commandery had the earlier date of dispensation, that being the 12th of July, 1890.
