We have DECIDED to MOVE our college and university representatives' participation from Saturday to SUNDAY, October 18th, in celebration of HBCU SUNDAY at The Luke Church!

We are hopeful that you will be able to join us on SUNDAY instead, as we believe having HBCU representatives present will be a wonderful addition to our celebration and provide a great opportunity to connect with students, families, and our church community.

We would love for you to set up an informational table during both our 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM worship services to share information about your institution, admissions, scholarships, and other educational opportunities.

In addition to connecting with prospective students and families, we invite you to enjoy a wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and celebration with fellow HBCU alumni, friends, and supporters.

Please let me know if you are available to participate on Sunday. We would be honored to have you join us!
Thank you again for your willingness to support our youth and their educational journeys.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,
Dora Braggs Byrd

Hornets Are Staying on Track Here at ASU.

Through a five-year partnership with technology-focused nonprofit Ed Advancement, ASU’s student retention rate has increased from 60% to 72%. The partnership has helped the University modernize the way students receive support, including improved recruitment systems, better communication surrounding enrollment and financial aid, and the addition of a 24/7 chatbot to assist students online.

Dr. Tanjula Petty, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, Strategic Initiatives and Transformation, said the work has helped ASU move from manual processes toward a more integrated, proactive and student-centered approach.

The progress also reflects a larger effort across the University to break down internal silos, improve advising and use data more intentionally to support student achievement.

ASU is now building on that momentum with a continued focus on retention, graduation and overall student success. This is what transformation looks like: stronger systems, better communication and more support for Hornets from enrollment to graduation.
