Yesterday didn’t go exactly according to plan, but it turned into such a great day.
We arrived at the office to set up for our Paint & Sign workshop and discovered that the storms the night before had knocked out our AC. We ran down the street to Main Street Hub and asked the owner, Darian if there was any chance we could use her space for the afternoon, and without hesitation, she said yes.
The event ended up being so much fun. The entire activity was done using only sign language. One person had to describe a picture in sign language, without showing it, while their partner tried to draw what was being signed to them.
One participant said it best:
“The content itself was brilliant and forced us to see that even when we think we are being clear, it can be perceived differently. Amazing workshop.”
Thank you, Josh, for putting together such a wonderful event, and thank you to everyone who came and participated.
And we really cannot thank Darian and Main Street Hub enough for opening their doors to us at the last minute and making us feel completely welcome. If you’re in the area, go support them! They have delicious sandwiches, flatbreads, charcuterie, drinks, and such a great space.
Yesterday was such a good reminder of what community looks like, businesses supporting businesses, people showing up for each other, and choosing to Be the Good. 🩵✨
