Welcome students! So great to see the campus so full of activity as we gear up for the first day of classes.

What are you excited about as we start the new academic year?

As we gear up for the start of the new academic year, what have you been doing with your summer?

(Don’t worry, we know better than to speak of summer in the past tense when there is still more than a week until the first day of classes…)

Scenes from the two concluding days of the Butler Summer Institute, one of our amazing programs that had students working with faculty mentors on supervised research. The students are from all across the university, but the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences was especially well represented, as always.

In the months and years that follow we expect these students will publish findings, release albums, exhibit art, solve scientific problems, and do much more that shared the fruits of their research with a wider audience.

Don't think students can do such things at the undergraduate level? You need to give Butler University a closer look.

Congratulations to all our students who were accepted into this program, and thank you to all the faculty mentors who supervised their research and creative work!

Check out the amazing work that Dr. Chris Herron, pediatric interventional cardiologist in Orlando FL at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital and a 2011 Chemistry grad from Butler University, is doing!

We also love that his Butler experience meant so much to him that he wears a Butler University surgical cap!

So proud, and so inspired...
