Ithaca College awards bachelor of science and master of science degrees in speech-language pathology. The undergraduate program provides an excellent clinical and academic foundation in basic human communication processes, development, and

disorders while providing a broad-based experience in liberal arts and general education. The capstone experience of the undergraduate degree in SLP is experiential learning through clinical practica during the junior or senior year at the Sir Alexander Ewing-Ithaca College Speech and Hearing Clinic or at an approved off-campus clinic site, such as Longview or Head Start. The graduate education program in SLP at Ithaca College is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). This means that students who complete either graduate program will be eligible to apply for the Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language-Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA upon passing the PRAXIS examination and completing a Clinical Fellowship (CF). http://www.ithaca.edu/hshp/depts/slpa

One hour left of Giving Day 2026!!

Students in the SLPA Department help to foster strong community connections between Ithaca College and our local community. Undergraduate and Graduate clinicians in Dr. Amy Rominger's school-based clinical practicum experience provided hearing screenings for 623 children in Tompkins County during this academic year alone.
