Cornell COVID-19 Service of Remembrance

On Monday, April 19, Cornell is virtually hosting the “Cornell COVID-19 Service of Remembrance." The service is intended to bring Cornellians together in community, in an inclusive, comforting, and hopeful atmosphere to mourn the many lives lost to COVID-19 over the past year.

https://events.cornell.edu/event/covid19-remembrance

Over the past year, close to 550,000 people in the U.S. and 2.8 million worldwide have lost their lives due to COVID-19. Restrictions on gathering have deprived countless survivors of chances to mourn, heal and grieve losses, whether from COVID-19 or unrelated causes, with family and friends. To hon...

"Congratulations to all graduating seniors! As we go forth to the real world beyond the walls of Cornell University, I know we will carry with us the lessons, skills, friendships and professional relationships we made within these walls. Cornell University has given me so much - from amazing friends to an extensive list of skills. Being an international student on campus has taught many of us how to persevere in an unfamiliar environment, hence why I believe even though we might be scared and nervous about what holds beyond the walls of Cornell, we will be just fine!" Valencia Lambert '20, Global Citizen Awards 2020 Recipient

"Studying abroad has given me the opportunity to focus on my athletic pursuit without sacrificing my quality of education by offering me a flexible schedule that I can easily work around. Training in a warmer climate while getting to explore some of Canada's most beautiful places has not only provided me with an awesome environment but it has also allowed me to gain new life experiences to carry with me for the rest of my life." "Going to a new country with a different way of life will help you respect and appreciate cultural practices. Singapore is a melting pot of different cultures - Malay, Chinese, Indian - coexisting in one space. My favorite aspect of the National University of Singapore was practicing with the faculty volleyball team and being able to conduct research with Dr. Chakraborty's lab at Duke-NUS Medical Center." Madelaine Rangel '21 is majoring in biometry and statistics in CALS and attended the National University of Singapore as a CALS Global Fellow in 2019. #cornelliansabroad
