IC Summer College

IC Summer College Welcome to the Accepted Students page for Ithaca College's Summer College for High School Students Program! In Ithaca College's residential pre-college summer program, high school students experience college life and college-level courses while living in a safe environment.

The Summer College for High School Students has two program offerings, each with courses designed and reserved expressly for pre-college students. ONE WEEK SESSION: June 26-July 1, 2016

THREE WEEK SESSION: July 4-22, 2016

Students love their classes, stay up late, and enjoy trips, picnics, movies, concerts, talent shows, and other events both planned and spontaneous. Most importantly, our summer college alumni report they were better prepared for a successful transition to college. And many students appreciate the opportunity to earn college credit in their academic courses. Credits earned during the three-week summer college program are accepted at Ithaca College and normally transferable to other colleges. Students who attend the one-week session earn a certificate of completion. We hope you'll be able to join us for a one-week or three-week session (or both!) this summer and become part of our summer college community.

It's a bittersweet day here in Rowland Hall, as we say good-bye to our three-week session students. On behalf of the RA's and the Summer College professional staff, we hope you all enjoyed your time here & made new connections with fellow students. It has been a privilege for me to meet so many talented and remarkable students from across the country. Thank you for making this a memorable summer. Please get home safely. We hope you will consider applying to Ithaca College as you continue your academic career!

Warm regards,
Christina Papaleo
Summer College Residential Coordinator

It's the last full day of Summer College! Our Musical Theatre Showcase is tonight at 8 p.m. in Emerson Suites, where we'll also have a slideshow to celebrate all of the students in our three-week session. :)

Parents/Guardians - please be sure to connect with your son/daughter about their travel arrangements home! For those students who are flying out of Syracuse or Elmira, we helped them arrange transportation to their respective airports--as well as for students taking a bus. We want to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Summer College Staff Highlight: Dwayne Moore, Summer College Resident Assistant

Dwayne is a rising junior Legal Studies and International Politics major. Dwayne is from a small town in Southwestern Connecticut. He likes to stay busy at school, but on his favorite experiences would be being a Deans' Host for the school of Business. This entails planning and engaging with prospective students about all the School of Business has to offer. He is passionate about the law, international relations, Netflix and of course enjoying all life has to bring.
Dwayne chose to be a Summer College RA because during his sophomore year of high school he was invited to attend a summer high school program at Stanford University for Mock Trial. He describes the experience as truly amazing. He made lifelong friends from across the nation, explored parts of California. This program made him realize his true passion for the law. He decided to apply to be summer RA, because he remembered all the fun he had during his program and thought it was time to return the favor and pay it forward. :)

Summer College Staff Highlight: Kaylynn Powell, Summer College Resident Assistant

Kaylynn is a Spanish and Italian Studies double major with a linguistics minor here at IC. She is also an RA during the school year and hopes to continue with Res Life. Kaylynn normally spends her summers working at a pool store, but she's excited to change it up, meet everyone, and make the coming weeks a fun and enjoyable experience! Some fun facts about her are: she loves pineapples, art, dancing, and animals (so basically if you feel the need to share photos of your pets with her, she would love to see your dog, turtle, cat, birds, fish, iguana, cow, etc. ☺️).

Summer College Staff Highlight: Arham Muneer, Summer College Resident Assistant

Arham is a rising senior Television-Radio major with minors in Theatre and the Honors Program. Arham is an international student from Islamabad, Pakistan. He has a strong interest in student engagement and leadership. Arham was a Resident Assistant in the First Year Residential Experience for four semesters and he is the president of the South Asian Students Society on campus and is involved with several other student organizations and leadership roles. This coming fall, Arham will be studying at the Ithaca College London Center and in the spring, he will be at the Ithaca College Los Angeles center. He is passionate about acting, event planning and coordination, the TV show Friends, Netflix, and baking.

Arham chose to be a Summer College RA because his experience as a Resident Assistant on campus has been extremely rewarding and he has acquired a wide array of skills within the position which he now hopes to use in this new position. Arham understands the possible difficulties students may face during the transition to college life, even more so as an international student, and wants to help make students feel at home and get comfortable with the college atmosphere. He is very excited to meet all the students and getting to know them.
