Did you all enjoy your spring break?

If you're still feeling like you didn't get enough of a break, maybe we can help you?

Join us Friday, April 5, from 4:00 - 8:30 for a math club meeting (in 114 Ayers Hall of course)! We will eat pizza (at 5:30 or so) and play board games, but that's not at all.

We will be holding officer elections for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters! All positions (President, Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are open.

*** If you are interested, please contact Dr. Dempsey before Friday and let him know. Additionally, try to get to the meeting as soon as it starts. If you have a schedule conflict, you may still have a chance to be elected but you must let Dr. Dempsey know of your interest.😊

Sharon & Carolyn Padgett were Hostesses with the Mostestess as always. We ate tons of November bargain bin Halloween candy. We played a couple of new games and had the usual Telestrations debacle. But the highlight of Math Con had to be Marcus’ Dr. David Dempsey costume. It started with a haircut from Dr. Dempsey’s barber and ended with a perfect pants crease. Superb!

10/26/2018

Hey everyone! Hope your week is going well!

We are having a math club meeting tomorrow, October 26th, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at 114 Ayers Hall.

Dr. Case will be dividing us into groups of 4 to teach us how to play bridge and we will have pizza and drinks around 5:00 PM. Some may head out to see the JSU Drama "She Kills Monsters" at around 7:00 PM (they should be selling tickets at the play if you have not bought yours), but some may stick around to play bridge.

Hope to see you there!

Greetings Everyone!

IT'S TIME FOR KME & THE JSU MATH CLUB TO HOLD OUR FIRST MEETING FOR THE SEMESTER!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!

WHERE: JSU Ayer's Hall Room 113
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 8th, 2017
TIME: 3:00pm - 8:00pm

We will be doing introductions, electing new officers for the coming year (we have President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, & Treasurer), and possibly brainstorming some fun events for us to participate in together this school year!

Please note that you are NOT required to stay the entire 5 hours. However, as an incentive for you to stay, we will have FREE pizza (😏) and drinks as well as board games! And believe me... you'll want to participate in our board games!

If you're a KME member, interested in the math club, or you hate math and just want to make some nice friends, then this is the place for you!

I hope to see you in a week!

Tutoring opportunity (summer):
An 8th grader at Alexandria High School needs a summer tutor for Algebra I. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Dempsey (or see the boost in the closed Kappa Mu [email protected] group for the contact information).

05/18/2017

Is anyone interested in tutoring finite math for a little extra summer spending money? If so, let me know!

04/24/2017

Hey everyone! I apologize that this is a bit late, but I wanted to thank everyone for such a wonderful year with KME! We had so much fun this past school year, and the National Convention earlier this month was a complete success!

I wanted to thank David Dempsey, my fellow KME officers, and all of the students for participating these past two semesters with KME! The organization would not be what it is without your support and involvement, and for that we cannot thank you enough!

We had a great ice cream social last week, but if you could not make it, worry not: We will be reconvening next semester in the Fall of 2017! Keep your ears open for updates!

For now, have a great summer and enjoy your time off!

Best wishes, everyone!

Doodle: KME National Convention April 6-9, 2017

Hey everyone! It's almost Spring Break, and I know you all are happy about that!

We have one quick announcement before your relaxation festivities begin!

As you've hopefully seen in your school email, Dr. Dempsey has sent out some emails regarding the KME National Convention this April 6th - 8th. We need to know who is committed to going, and for those who are, there is a deposit required!

Perhaps most importantly, we just need to ACTUALLY KNOW you want to come! There is a doodle poll Dr. Dempsey has sent out (I will post the link below). Please respond to the doodle poll if you haven't already!

As Dr. Dempsey said in his email, you have until 4:30pm TODAY to bring a $55 Deposit if you are wanting to go to the National Convention with us! If you are unable to pay that $55, just come by and talk to Dr. Dempsey today or tomorrow morning!

Ladies, we would love to have more of you join us!

Otherwise, have a wonderful Spring Break! We will meet one more time for this semester, after Spring Break, and then that will complete the 2016-2017 school year! We will conduct officer elections at that last meeting, so if you would like to run, please keep that in mind!

Have a great Spring Break everyone!
