It's become a bit of a tradition at Wesley that every year at our Christmas party, Jay reads a short Christmas story. But because of COVID restrictions this year, and because our priority has been keeping our dorm as safe as we possibly could, we didn't really have a chance to do that.
So we thought we would share that tradition with you as a podcast and expand that tradition to include our extended Wesley family. So, here's a reading of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," by Dr. Seuss.

“And he's allowed me to go to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land!” -Martin Luther King Jr.
It’s hard to imagine what it’s like to be on the mountain when we spend our energy trying to survive in the valley. We see only what is right in front of us trying to get through the next class, week, test... There is a bigger picture purpose and a higher call that we can see, but it requires a different set of skills to see
Challenge yourself and take a risk (within reason). A challenge not so hard that it kills you, but push your comfort zones and go to your mountaintop. Go find your future and pursue it.
Two Wesley Nights ago we talked about growing in to the person you want to be! Do you remember that? That Wesley night we talked about change and acceptance. We reminded everyone that Wesley is an extension of the church’s service to the world and we do so through purpose and inclusivity. We believe in giving room to people to properly love them. We don’t have to understand what you’re going through, It’s not up to us, We just want to love you. #jsuwesley
