Good company, lakeside laughter, and a sunset worth pausing for. 🌅💛🤎

Our Evaluation, Measurement, and Research (EMR) community took some time beyond the classroom to relax, share food, enjoy games, and make memories together. From conversations around the table to adventures on the water, the day gave us plenty of reasons to smile.

Behind every research question and academic milestone are people, and moments like these strengthen the friendships that help us along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this outing special. Here’s to a semester of learning, supporting one another, and finding joy in the journey together! 🐴✨

We are excited to celebrate a major achievement from our program! 🎉
🏆 Adedayo Adeyeye (EMR PhD Student) and their interdisciplinary team earned 1st Place in the Bronco Sustainability Challenge at Western Michigan University.
Their project focused on developing a recyclable and compostable coffee packaging solution that reduces plastic waste and supports a circular sustainability model. ♻️☕
This success reflects the power of collaboration, innovation, and real-world problem solving.
👏 Congratulations to the team and everyone who supported this journey!

Their paper, “Empowering a New Generation: Evaluation of the U.S. State Department’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in Sub-Saharan Africa as a Future-Focused Educational Initiative,” examines how evaluation can be used to understand leadership development and educational initiatives across contexts.
