A field worthy of his name. 🏈

Last night, Broncbuster Athletics had the privilege of honoring one of the most influential figures in the history of Garden City Community College with the official dedication of Bob Larson Field.

Coach Larson arrived in Garden City in 1994 and went on to leave an indelible mark on Broncbuster Football. As head coach, he compiled a 46-18 record, captured the 2000 Jayhawk Conference championship and led the Busters to the NJCAA National Championship Game. His accomplishments ultimately earned him induction into both the NJCAA Football Hall of Fame and the Broncbuster Athletics Hall of Fame.

But Bob Larson’s impact on GCCC extends far beyond wins and losses. From coach to Athletic Director, Interim Athletic Director and now member of the GCCC Board of Trustees, his decades of leadership and service have helped shape Broncbuster Athletics into what it is today.

Now, his name will forever be part of the place where so many of those memories were made.
