Sergeant LeAnderey Collins not only serves his community, he is also a family man who dedicates his time and effort to make an impact on the lives of others. As a child in elementary school his passion for law enforcement started by admiring DARE officers who made a difference in their communities. He began to enhance his education with an Associate Degree from San Jacinto College in General Studies, an Associate Degree from Le Toumeau University in Criminal Studies and is currently working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from The University of North Texas. He is certified in investigating, dating violence, domestic violence, Texas Law Enforcement and Cyber Security Enforcement.
Sergeant Collins continued to further his skills and knowledge by accomplishing a Trilogy Award which is Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute and Executive Leadership Institute. Although, the materials became difficult to learn while managing time with training and everyday job duties, he was able to undertake the intense and challenging leadership programs. Due to his undying passion for law enforcement and hard work we would like to congratulate Sergeant Collins on achieving the Trilogy award. His motivation, quote: “Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don’t strive to make your absence noticed, just make your absence felt.” expresses his assertiveness as he prepares for advancement while tackling The Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas and Leadership Command College.

Today, the San Jacinto Police Department Command Staff successfully completed Self-Aid, Buddy-Aid (SABA) training taught by Officer Jesse Mendoza. Lifesaving methods were demonstrated using a Self-Aid Buddy Aid (SABA) kit and the methods taught will enable officers to use improvised materials if SABA kit is not available.

There will come a time in every first responder's career when they will need to perform life saving medical intervention in the line of duty. Deaths resulting from traumatic injury can be prevented by proper treatment at the scene by a first responder.

This course provided the knowledge and tools needed to save your life or the life of someone else. #sanjacpolice #selfaidbuddyaid #tourniquet #sjcsummer19

As a San Jac Alumni and previous employee I'd like to give the SJCPD a shout out for always being of great help. I'd especially like to commend Officer Juarez for his awesome work ethic and for always being there when needed. I can't count how many times he stepped in to help with school events, departmental events, etc. He always made his security checks, without fail, to make sure that everyone on campus was safe & secure. He has always done his job with a positive attitude and a positive outlook. He has been a great colleague and a great mentor to many. You are greatly appreciated Officer Juarez! 👮
I just wanted to give a shout out to Officer Raul Juarez and Officer Lakeita Carr for all of your dedication to the faculty, staff, and students of SJC! We appreciate all you guys do & for protecting all of us on a daily basis! We appreciate you all taking the time to walk around the campus and make sure everything is going the way it is supposed to do! We appreciate you both so keep up the AWESOME HARD WORK!
As a San Jac alumni, I can not help but think about my time there. Even after I graduated with my associates I still maintained myself as a dual students taking classes between San Jac and UH. I was not only a student there, but also an Orientation leader and Financial aid assistant for San Jacinto College! Between being a student and a worker there I have had the pleasure of getting to know the San Jacinto Police Department. One the officers that stood out for me was Officer Raul Juarez, not only because he showed an awesome personality and attitude but you can just see how well he can connect with employees, students and visitors! I believed him to be a great role model and a leader! He see's the good in people and potential! He not only shows that to all around the San Jac campus, but he shows it to the community! He not only shows exemplary characteristics as a working hard leader in our community but as well as family man who shows great guidance. We appreciate you Officer Juarez and San Jacinto Police Department!
