The team won three national championships during the Jim Crow era. However, as Black players, they were never invited to the White House. That all changed last week when they met with VP Harris.

From ESPN… “As the American sports betting industry continues to expand, it has reached a high water mark, posting a record $10.92 billion in revenue for 2023, according to the American Gaming Association's annual report.”

This number will be surpassed this year.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – In a statement Monday, Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) director of athletics James DuBose Jr. announced the appointment of alumnus John W. Richardson III as interim head coach of the men's basketball team. He becomes the eighth coach in program history.
