For nearly 250 years, the American flag has flown over generations of citizens, service members, veterans, and families who have helped shape our country and defend the ideals it represents.

As we look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary, we reflect on the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms and the promise that continues to unite us as one nation.

The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services Women Veterans Program invites all women who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces to attend the 2026 Women Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, June 12, in Rio Rancho.

Join fellow women veterans for a morning of connection, support, and recognition as we honor the service, sacrifice, and leadership of women veterans across New Mexico. The event will provide an opportunity to connect with others who served, share experiences, and celebrate the strength of the women veteran community.

🚨The FBI is hosting a Special Agent Recruitment Event in El Paso for individuals interested in learning more about career opportunities within the Bureau. Representatives from the FBI El Paso and FBI Albuquerque Field Offices will be available to provide information about the Special Agent career path, hiring requirements, and the application process.

New Mexico is making historic investments in education, literacy and student success.

From tuition free college and universal free child care to expanded literacy support and summer learning programs, we are continuing to invest in New Mexico students at every stage of learning.

This summer, 10,000 students across New Mexico will participate in our free Summer Reading Program, which provides small group instruction and focused literacy support designed to help students strengthen reading and math skills before the next school year begins.

Students participating in the program are advancing an entire reading level on average because reading interventions work.

Strong readers build strong futures.
