We are proud to partner with Nevada Pediatric Specialists (NPS) to expand lead testing services for Las Vegas and Henderson residents! NPS provides comprehensive healthcare for children, and thanks to this partnership, they now offer on-site blood lead testing using a point-of-care testing machine. This device uses a small capillary blood sample to test for lead—making testing more accessible, more convenient for parents, and gentler for kids 🩸

We value this partnership and the shared commitment to a safe, healthy, lead-free future! 💚

Please join us in celebrating our Spring 2026 intern, Makenzi, on graduating with her BS in Public Health from and for being selected as UNLV’s commencement speaker! 🎉

During her time as a Global Health intern, Makenzi contributed to research that will inform public health interventions and raise awareness of heavy metal exposure among our partners in Ghana and the Philippines. Her work reflects a strong dedication to improving health outcomes for global communities.

In addition to pursuing an MPH in Global and Environmental Health, Makenzi will join the NvCLPPP team as a Research Assistant, where she will assist with data collection and support our health communication efforts. We are so proud of Makenzi and can’t wait to see her grow as a public health professional and advocate!

Kids should be tested for lead at 1 and 2 years old, or at least once by age 6. Lead poisoning is 100% preventable but the only way to know is with a lead test. Don’t wait—get your child tested today! 🌟

Today, we wear denim in recognition of Denim Day 💙 and join people around the world in using our voices to say: there is no excuse and never an invitation for sexual violence.

What people wear is never an invitation, and it never will be.

We stand with survivors, honor their strength, and remain committed to fostering a culture rooted in respect, accountability, and care.
