Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predo

This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Politi- cal Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. TCMDAC’s bowling party is back...with a purpose!

Join us and bring some friends out to bowl some strikes and set out some strolls on September 5, 2026, from 8pm - 12am,, at Lord Calvert’s Bowling Alley, 2275 Solomons Island Rd, Huntingtown MD

Tickets are $50 for bowlers (shoes and unlimited bowling) & $40 for non-bowlers. The highest scoring male and female bowlers will be recognized. Doc Da DJ will keep the dance floor jumping.

Help Us Support Teachers!

Teachers give so much to their students, often using their own money to provide the classroom supplies students need.
This year, we invite our community to help stock classrooms and support the dedicated teachers at J.P. Ryon Elementary School.

Together, we are working to ensure:

🍼 30 expectant mothers are celebrated at a community baby shower with the resources they need for a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Happy !

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.
