đź’š MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS MONTH đź’š
BREAK THE STIGMA. START THE CONVERSATION. SAVE A LIFE.
The Sorors of Sigma Tau Sigma Sorority, Inc.® stand together in recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week and Mental Health Awareness.
Mental illness does not discriminate. Behind every smile may be a silent struggle, behind every strong woman may be an untold battle, and behind every closed door may be someone praying for the strength to face another day.
OUR CALL TO ACTION:
đź’š EDUCATE yourself and others about mental illness and the importance of emotional wellness.
đź’š EQUIP yourself with resources to recognize when someone may need support.
đź’š EMPOWER others to seek professional help without shame, fear, or judgment.
đź’š ELEVATE the conversation by creating safe spaces where people feel heard, valued, supported, and loved.
This month, we challenge YOU to:
- Check on three people, especially those who always appear strong.
- Have one meaningful conversation about mental health.
- Encourage someone to seek help when needed.
- Show compassion instead of judgment.
- Remember that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.
To every person silently fighting a battle: YOU MATTER. YOUR LIFE MATTERS. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS.
Faith and professional mental health care can walk hand in hand. You can love God, pray, and still need someone to talk to.
If you or someone you love is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 for support.
