How do we regulate AI while keeping pace with its rapid evolution?

Dr. Philip Huff, director of UA Little Rock’s Cyberspace and Operations Research and Education Center and a professor in the Donaghey College of STEM, recently shared his perspective on the challenges of regulating artificial intelligence.

Dr. Huff notes that AI is evolving at an unprecedented pace, making it difficult for laws and regulations to keep up. While AI offers valuable opportunities for learning, research, and accessibility, he emphasizes that addressing criminal misuse and ensuring these technologies are safe are essential.

As AI continues to reshape how we work and interact with the world, conversations about responsible use, public safety, and regulation remain critical.

DCSTEM and the UA Little Rock Cybersecurity Club () recently got an inside look at how the FBI Evidence Response Team approaches investigations involving both digital and physical evidence.

We learned about investigative techniques used in the field and even saw how fingerprint evidence is processed and recovered from a crime scene. A huge thank-you to the Evidence Response Team at FBI - Little Rock for taking the time to visit campus, share their expertise, and give us a fascinating look at this work!

And if you think cybersecurity is only for cybersecurity majors, think again! Cybersecurity increasingly intersects with fields like criminal justice, psychology, information technology, and many others. UA Little Rock offers a cybersecurity certificate that can complement your current degree and give you an in-demand skill set to take with you into the workforce.
