The Bucket List Family Adventure Travel Journalists. AUG 2015 we're selling everything for an adventure around the world!! Hello world! We are the Gee family.

Just your average young family exploring the planet ;)

Our parents originally met in a flower shop in Vladivostok, Russia. They were both missionaries serving for the LDS Church. They later courted and married while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. Settie graduated in Communications and Garrett finished his eligibility with the BYU Soccer team in 2015 and then dropped out. We were going to take the typical next step in life and "grow up" and build a house and settle into careers..buuut how bout not! We're not quite ready for that. We feel like we still have so much to learn about life and happiness before we can set up our future life and home. That's why we started our family bucket list. We decided as a young family that now was the time to form healthy habits and create traditions that will hopefully shape us into better people the rest of our lives. After watching zebras at a watering hole, we brought the safari back to the pool. Everyone wanted to be a zebra… until Mom showed up as the crocodile 🐊😂 Try this game next time you’re at the pool!

Today is a BIG day for 2 reasons..it’s been 100 days since my ACL knee surgery AND IT WAS MY FIRST DAY BACK TO SURF! It was an emotional surf session for me. I’ve been giving my everything to rehab but it started off as a major struggle, mostly because my body wouldn’t take to pain killer drugs. It was a hellish 3 weeks after the surgery of constant pain and no sleep (more on this later and alllll the crazy alternative solutions I tried). Then today happened..I actually wasn’t sure if I’d try to surf and pop up. I’ve been paddling out but just to touch ocean, keep my paddle strength up, and push the kids into waves. I had said that I would wait for a bigger day and take out my long board because similar to snowboarding, I think surfing is weird in that it’s easier to pop up on big waves than small..more power and steepness and umph to push you. Well the forecast said 5-6+ and zero wind. I paddled out with my knee brace strapped on but no expectations or pressure..and when the glorious wave came right my way i simply started to paddle and when it was time to pop up it honestly wasn’t a decision but just instinct that kicked in. Next thing I knew I was flying down the wave..ALL THE EMOTIONS! /// Special thanks to my surgeon Doctor.masi and Drjoshredd and Healingplaybook for helping me get here. ALWAYS GRATEFUL.

We all do scary things every day, but doing scary things when we have a support system around us makes things not as scary! This is one of my favorite moments because Cali wanted to do something that was scary for him at first, but with the help of his siblings, he was able to have a great time :)

I was HEART BROKEN when the investors on Shark Tank told me NO. I thought my venture was over.. Little did I know that 1 year later I would receive an email from Snapchat that would lead to a $54Million acquisition! And now 13 years later, after a year of beta testing, it’s time for my 2nd act..my 2nd app ;) Can I do it again? Does lightning ever strike twice in the same spot? How will this chapter go? We set up a 360 camera at the watering hole hoping to get an up-close view of the elephants…Turns out, they wanted an even closer look at the camera. 😂🐘

Safe to say the camera (and monopod) took one for the team.
