We’re exploring that question through a new collaboration between Texas Tech University and Osaka Metropolitan University. Students in Texas are tasting Japanese w**es, while students in Japan will taste Texas w**es.

By comparing how they describe their experiences, we hope to learn more about how culture, familiarity, and context shape the language of w**e.

Our Legal Aspects of W**e Business (part of the W**emaking certificate) class starts September 14.

This course covers the basics of starting and running a vineyard and w**ery. We’ll go over things like legal requirements, real estate, setting up and running a business, contracts, employees, liability, and government regulations. We’ll also look at some of the legal issues that are specific to vineyards and w**eries.
