The “debt trap” is a situation an individual falls in to when they have over used debt making it difficult to repay a loan.

➡️ How to get out of the debt trap:
1) acknowledge the situation you are in
2) understand ALL the details of your finances
3) develop a spending plan and budget to pay the debt
4) stop using credit cards!

➡️ How to avoid the debt cycle:
1) don’t spend unless you actually have the money
2) build an emergency fund
3) spend below your means & avoid buying the “maximum allowed” - if you buy a car and need to take out a loan, don’t go for the most expensive car
4) set up automatic payments so you don’t miss a due date
