Upper Peninsula Youth Orchestra

Upper Peninsula Youth Orchestra An ensemble of dedicated young musicians from across Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

UPYO began as a weekend retreat for the string, wind, brass and percussion students of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In October 2014, UPYO was expanded to meet for weekly intensive rehearsals and sectionals to prepare for a performance at the end of each semester. Students have the opportunity to study challenging repertoire, work with professional musicians from the area, explore music facility and resources Northern Michigan University has to offer, and most importantly, make music with their friends from all over the U.P.!
