Our Star is a little dimmer this day as we learned of the passing of our longest standing member. Gaye McLeod, age 102, passed away on Monday August 10, 2026; just 2 days shy of her 103rd birthday. Gaye was a member of OES 80 years and a past matron of Portage #485. She was made an honorary member of the Morrow-Casey Grand family in January. Enjoy your well earned rest sister!

Today Sister Jalene and Brother Cameren, along with several members of the Morrow-Casey Grand Family including WGM Nancy Morrow herself, were honored to travel to Lansing and present four milestone awards to Sister Gaye McLeod. At 102 years young, Sister Gaye is sharp and alert as ever! GWM Nancy presented her with a 50, 60, 70, and 80 year service pin + certificate. In addition to these milestones, Sister Gaye was made an honorary member of the Morrow-Casey Grand Family.

We then joined with the family for tea and snacks. It was a humbling and most honorable opportunity to celebrate a dedicated sister to our order. We will be back for 85!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Sister Jean Lumbard, Past Worthy Matron of Sherman Chapter #197, Order of the Eastern Star.

Sister Jean will be remembered for her dedication, leadership, and the kindness she shared with her Chapter and community. Her loss is deeply felt by all who had the honor of calling her Sister.

Services will be held Friday, February 6.
Public viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, with an Eastern Star service to follow at 11:00 AM.
Arrangements are being made by Petersons Funeral Home.

Please keep her family and our Eastern Star family in your thoughts and prayers.
