1. Amazon is the biggest ad buyer in history; but they also made close to $40B from selling ads - more than they made from Prime!
2. Apple only spent 1.8b on ads in 2022, the cheapskates 😉

Marketing: political advertising research

Win It Back, a group associated with the Club for Growth (anti-Trums Republican group) did some research to see what ads work best to change the minds of Trump voters. They made over 40 ads and showed them to 12 Trump-voter focus groups.

The most persuasive ads were aired in selected cities in Iowa and South Carolina on Fox News and other conservative media. Then they compared polls before and after the ads, both in cities where the ads ran and "control" cities where they didn't show the ads to see the impact on a larger audience.
