🌹 Remembering Roses: 13 Days of Wava 🌹

Did you know? In March 2013, Tau Beta Sigma launched its first 13 Days of Wava Campaign to raise funds for the Wava Memorial Garden, a lasting tribute to our Founder, Wava Banes Turner Henry.

The campaign kicked off on March 14, Wava’s birthday, with a goal of raising $40,000 to create a beautiful place of remembrance and reflection at the National Headquarters in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

TBSAA helped lead the way, making the first and largest donation of $5,000 to the campaign. The Wava Memorial Garden was dedicated in July 2014, creating a lasting space to honor Wava and her legacy for generations to come. 🌹

A legacy remembered. A history honored. 🌹

🎶 TBSAA Women in Music Featured Alumna: Kymberly Littlejohn 🎶

Kymberly Littlejohn, a native of Durham, NC, is a TBSAA Gold Star Member, Life Member, and Honorary Member of the Eta Omicron Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. She began her journey at North Carolina Central University before earning her diploma in Band Instrument Repair from Red Wing Technical College.

Kymberly managed the Charlotte, NC shop for Music & Arts for many years before relocating to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2023. She now serves as Orchestra and Band Repair and Refurbishment Supervisor at Sweetwater Sound, facilitating daily repair operations and training technicians.

Beyond instrument repair, Kymberly has coached several award-winning high school flag lines in Charlotte, helping teams earn both State and National Championships. Her career reflects a commitment to technical excellence, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others to thrive in the field of instrument repair.
